Arrival in Elkland, PA

After a long day of travel, we’ve arrived safely in Elkland, Pennsylvania and are settling in for the night. We had a little time to get acquainted with the school where we’ll be staying, reconnect with returning friends, and met some new faces as we found our bearings before tomorrow’s work.

The forecast calls for rain, so we’re shifting plans to focus on indoor projects—perfect for hands-on tasks, planning sessions, and time to build stronger connections. We’re excited for a full day of teamwork, learning, and growth.

We cannot say “thank you” enough to our home church, First Church of Lombard UCC, for all their support and prayers as the Youth Community Summer Mission Team prepares to head out one week from today! We love you all!

This year, the First Church of Lombard Youth Community are heading to Tioga County, Pennsylvania to help with flood recovery following the devastation of Tropical Storm Debby in August 2024.

All are invited to a special “Sending Forth” for the Mission Team, to be held during the 9:30 a.m. worship service on Sunday, June 14. Please keep the team in your prayers… and be watching for updates during the week of the trip (June 21-27) right here at https://ycmissiontrips.home.blog/!
